An 87-year-old Falmouth man died Thursday after his car struck a Pendleton County school bus.
Floyd Wenzel was pronounced dead at the scene, Pendleton County Sheriff Craig Peoples said.
There were no children on the bus when Wenzel's 1969 Chevrolet Nova ran off the right side of Ky. 159 and Wenzel overcorrected, which caused his car to travel from the southbound lane to the northbound lane and into the path of the bus, according to a press release from the sheriff.
The accident occurred north of Falmouth about 12:25 p.m. There was no indication that the driver of the bus, Paula Price, 54, also of Falmouth, was injured.
