A Northern Kentucky woman is facing 15 months in prison in a federal case involving the operation of a brothel in Florence.
Yong Cho, 42, of Florence, was sentenced in Covington on Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Danny C. Reeves.
According to the office of U.S. District Attorney James Zerhusen, Cho this month pleaded guilty to a charge of inducing women to travel in interstate commerce for the purpose of engaging in prostitution. Cho admitted that she owned Kings Spa, a purported massage parlor on Nicholas Street in Florence that actually operated as a brothel, Zerhusen's office said.
Between Feb. 1 and May 7 of this year, Cho allegedly hired seven women to work at Kings Spa as masseuses. But all of them actually provided sex acts to customers for a fee, federal authorities said.
Under federal law, Yong Cho must serve 85 percent of her prison sentence, and she will be under the supervision of the U.S. Probation Office for two years after she is released.
