Staffer resigns from Rand Paul campaign

Another person has resigned from the staff of Rand Paul, who is seeking the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate.

Christi Gillespie said in a press release Thursday that Paul "has changed his message of reform" and won't allow staffers to attack Mitch McConnell, a Republican who is the state's senior senator.

David Adams, Paul's campaign manager, said that Gillespie worked on voter outreach. He said her resignation was voluntary.

Campaign spokesman Christopher Hightower resigned two weeks ago after political blogs listed controversial materials related to him. His MySpace page contained a racial slur that Hightower said someone else posted.

Losing two staffers in the early stages of a campaign is not unusual or a sign of internal problems, Adams said.
