A Lexington man has been charged with eight counts of burglary stemming from a string of burglaries that occurred within the past two months in east Lexington.
Michael Scott Bishop, 28, was arrested Tuesday. He pleaded not guilty to the charges during an arraignment Wednesday.
Bishop also is being investigated for at least 20 burglaries, including three in Harrodsburg and one in Clark County, Lexington police Lt. Doug Pape said.
Brian D. Stephens II, 24, also was charged with eight counts of burglary.
"They were working together," Pape said.
Bishop and Stephens were taken into custody around 4 p.m. Tuesday at an apartment complex on Trent Circle.
Bishop is being held at the Fayette County jail on $76,050 bond. He will go to court on Jan. 22.
