MUNFORDVILLE — A Hart County woman who baby-sat many children has been indicted on additional charges in a case in which at least eight children were allegedly sexually abused by the woman, her husband, two of his brothers and two other men, police say.
Patricia Buster, 44, of Bonnieville was indicted by a Hart County grand jury Tuesday on 17 counts of first-degree complicity to rape a victim younger than 12; nine counts of first-degree complicity to sodomy involving a victim younger than 12; and 331 counts of complicity to sexual abuse of a victim younger than 12, Munfordville Police Chief Greg Atwell said.
Buster's husband, Kenny, was indicted Tuesday on 18 counts of first-degree rape of a victim under the age of 12, 331 counts of sex abuse and numerous other charges, Atwell said.
The alleged acts are thought to have occurred between 1990 and 2001, he said.
"They would baby-sit for people, and that's mainly how they would come in contact with (the children)," he said. "This is the biggest (sex abuse) case I've had in 20 years."
Patricia Buster was initially indicted in February by a Hart County grand jury on numerous counts of sex abuse and rape charges.
In March 2008, she pleaded guilty to one count of complicity to first-degree sexual abuse and was sentenced to five years in prison. Her sentence was probated, according to Hart County Circuit Court records.
Kenny Buster is serving an 18-year prison sentence at the Kentucky State Reformatory in LaGrange after being convicted in 2007 of multiple counts of sex abuse and use of a minor younger than 16 in a sexual performance, according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections Web site.
Others charged in connection with the case had visited Kenny and Patricia Buster's home when children were present, Atwell said.
Mark Puckett, 39, of Cub Run and Leslie Melton, 44, of Munfordville were indicted on first-degree rape of a victim younger than 12 and other charges, Atwell said.
Kenny Buster's brothers, Palmer Buster, 44, of Munfordville and Harold Buster, 48, of Bonnieville, were indicted by a Hart County grand jury in February. Palmer Buster was indicted on three counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a victim younger than 12. Harold Buster was indicted on one count of first-degree rape, 32 counts of first-degree sexual abuse and other charges.
