Berea crash victim identified

Kentucky State Police have identified the man who died after being ejected from his vehicle and then struck by another motorist Wednesday morning.

Joshua R. Knuckles, 22, of Berea was traveling on on Ky. 1016, east of Berea, about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday when the Dodge Neon he was driving crossed over into the lane of travel of a westbound and collided with a vehicle driven by Mary J. Napier, 35, of Berea. Knuckles was ejected and then hit by an eastbound vehicle driven by Jennifer L. McCracken, 40, of Berea.

"We don't know whether he was killed upon ejection or killed once he was struck by a vehicle," said state police spokesman Trooper Chris Lanham.

Napier was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Berea, where she was treated for a leg injury, police said. McCracken was not injured.
