'Secret Legacy of Coal' author to speak at Lexington sustainability conference

Jeff Biggers, the author of Reckoning at Eagle Creek: The Secret Legacy of Coal in the Heartland, will be the keynote speaker Friday at the fourth annual Campus Community Partnerships for Sustainability Conference in Lexington.

His free talk, which titled "Coal Free Future Begins in Kentucky," begins at 7:30 p.m. in the student center on the Bluegrass Community & Technical College campus, 164 Opportunity Way. The three-day conference also includes a banquet speech by Tom FitzGerald of the Kentucky Resources Council and field trips to local farms and solar-powered homes.
