A Lexington man was in critical condition after a crash on Paris Pike on Monday afternoon.
Warren E. Perez, 75, was trying to turn left onto Old Paris Pike at about 12:10 p.m., when he turned into the path of an Oldsmobile driven by Arthur Hembree, 39, of Lexington, police said.
Hembree's vehicle hit Perez's Honda Civic in the right front fender, then went off the road and over a retaining wall before stopping in a parking lot.
Perez, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to the University of Kentucky Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition Monday night.
Hembree, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to St. Joseph Hospital with multiple injuries that did not appear life-threatening. He was not at St. Joseph on Monday night.
