Lexington man indicted in fatal car wreck

A Lexington man who was involved in a head-on collision that killed a nurse on her way to work at the University of Kentucky Hospital on April 5 has been indicted by a Fayette County grand jury.

In addition to the indictment, a bench warrant was issued this week in the case of Cristobal Cordoba-Ramirez, also known as Cristobal Ramirez-Cordova, after he failed to make a scheduled appearance in traffic court. He was ticketed for not having a driver's license after his sport utility vehicle crossed the center line on Briar Hill Road and hit Vicki Hutchison's car, killing her, according to authorities.

The grand jury indictment charges Cordoba-Ramirez with second-degree manslaughter, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of mind altering substance(s) with aggravating circumstance and failure to maintain required insurance.
