Jurors want Berea robber to serve 42 years in prison

NICHOLASVILLE — A Jessamine County jury recommended that a man convicted of armed robbery should be sentenced to 42 years in prison.

Daniel Sayre, 21, of Berea was convicted earlier this week on charges of first-degree robbery, tampering with physical evidence, receiving a stolen firearm and providing a firearm to a juvenile.

Nicholasville police arrested Sayre after a Sept. 16 robbery of a Kroger employee as he sat on the tailgate of a truck in the store parking lot. Sayre had previously been convicted on a burglary charge.

Sayre is scheduled to be sentenced June 11 before Jessamine Circuit Court Judge Hunter Daugherty.
