The condition of a pedestrian hit by a car early Sunday near West High Street and Broadway has improved, according to University of Kentucky Hospital public relations.
A car driven by Andrea E. Johnson, 21, of Lexington, was going west on High Street when the driver ran a red light on Broadway and struck a southbound car, Lexington police said. Tomitra Moore of Lexington was driving the southbound car, which then hit three women standing in a parking lot at High and Broadway.
One of the women, Rachel Nestor, 22, of Ashland, was taken to UK Hospital in serious condition. On Monday, her condition had improved to fair. The two other women were treated and released from the hospital on Sunday.
Blood samples from both drivers are being tested by a Kentucky State Police lab. No charges had been filed as of Monday afternoon.
