A University of Kentucky student who jumped off a two-story building Tuesday after being shocked by a police Taser remained in critical condition Wednesday at UK Chandler Hospital.
Police said Stephen Eidson, 23, appeared to be under the influence of drugs when officers arrived at the fourplex at 277 Lyndhurst Place near the UK campus. Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said Eidson was standing on the roof mumbling incoherently. He allegedly attacked officers who tried to talk him down.
Roberts said Eidson was shocked with a Taser two times on the roof, and stood back up both times. She said he walked to the edge, looked back at officers, and jumped.
Police originally said they thought Eidson broke both ankles and injured his back when he landed, but they have reported he did not suffer any broken bones. It's unclear what his injuries are. Family members could not be reached for comment.
