A deputy jailer in Powell County was arrested Friday after police said he solicited money from the wife of an inmate at the Powell County Detention Center, state police in Morehead announced in a press release.
Joey Casey of Stanton took money from an inmate's wife with the intent to help her husband get a shorter sentence or shock probation, police said.
Casey is charged with first-degree official misconduct, and the incident remains under investigation, police said.
