Case of theft from Central Kentucky non-profit is waived to grand jury

The case of a Frankfort woman accused of stealing $40,000 from a non-profit organization that serves disabled children was waived to the grand jury Thursday.

Mary Margaret Tincher, 39, a former employee of Child Development Centers of the Bluegrass, is accused of stealing the money from the organization over several months.

Tincher was hired at Child Development Centers on Aug. 1, 2009, Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said. In September, Tincher allegedly began electronically transferring funds from the non-profit into her personal bank account.

She pleaded not guilty to the charges in Fayette District Court on July 7.
