Minor flooding is reported in Pike County

PIKEVILLE — Residents along Harless Creek in Regina reported minor flooding after a rain storm Wednesday afternoon, the National Weather Service reported.

Southern Pike County was under a flash flood warning until 9:30 p.m.

About 1.5 inches of rain fell in about an hour, and around 5:15 p.m. Pike emergency officials said water was flowing from Harless Creek into the road and residents' yards, the weather service reported.

Harless Creek was among the hardest hit by federal disaster-strength floods on July 17. Most flood-related deaths occur in automobiles.

Never try to cross water-covered bridges, dips in roads or flowing streams, the National Weather Service advises.
