A car crashed into the Lexington Fire Department station on North Broadway on Thursday afternoon, officials said.
Darrell Vance, whose age and hometown were not available, was driving a 1990 Honda Accord toward downtown on North Broadway, police said. He went off the road and through a ditch, struck a fire department sign, and hit the brick column between the garage doors, Maj. Ed Davis said.
The wreck happened about 2:45 p.m.
Vance suffered injuries not considered life-threatening, Davis said. He was taken to Saint Joseph Hospital.

Following the wreck, a fire department crew worked to remove the brick column and put up temporary framing so the station's doors could still open and close.
The station will stay in service.
Lexington police said they did not think alcohol was a factor in the crash.
