The body of a man who jumped from a boat on the Ohio River in northern Kentucky was recovered Tuesday night, according to the Boone County Sheriff's Department.
Relatives identified Mike Fugate, 48, of Petersburg, about 11 p.m. Tuesday after water rescue crews retrieved his body from the river, the sheriff's department said.
Charles Slagle, 41, also of Petersburg, told police that he and Fugate, his brother, were in a small johnboat near the Interstate 275 Carroll C. Cropper Bridge when Fugate jumped overboard and did not resurface.
Emergency crews received the report about 3:10 p.m. The Dearborn County Water Rescue and Boone County Water Rescue located a possible target about 5:30 p.m. A diver retrieved the body about 10:30 p.m.
