An inmate who failed to return after being released from the Fayette County jail on a court-ordered pass was returned to custody Tuesday, jail officials said.
John Wesley Moore, 52, was released about 8 a.m. Monday and was expected to return at 4 p.m., but he did not.
Lexington police took Moore into custody at 11:52 a.m. Tuesday. He was charged with second-degree escape, probation violation and third-degree criminal trespassing.
Moore had been scheduled to be released from jail Dec. 2.
