The Indianapolis-based board of directors of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity has declared its University of Kentucky chapter inactive.
Lambda Chi Alpha spokesman Tad Lichtenauer said in a release that the board intends to re-establish a chapter of the fraternity at the UK campus in the future.
The fraternity's UK chapter was suspended by the national headquarters after campus police found minors drinking alcohol at the fraternity's house early Sunday morning.
The UK chapter was suspended in August after UK police issued eight citations for minors in possession of alcohol at the chapter house on Huguelet Drive.

The chapter did not recruit members during fall rush.
