A Richmond man pleaded guilty to two counts of distribution of child pornography in federal court in Lexington Wednesday, according to a news release from United States Attorney's office.
Kenneth Rowe, 61, who owned a dental lab in Lexington, admitted he downloaded and distributed child pornography between October and November in 2009, the release said.
An investigation by Kentucky State Police and the FBI found more than 2,000 photos and more than 20 videos containing child porn on Rowe's computer earlier this year; some of the videos featured children younger than 12 engaging in sexually explicit conduct with adults, the release said.
While examining another suspect's computer in Virginia in 2008, FBI agents discovered "numerous videos and photographs of child pornography" e-mailed from Rowe, the release said.
The investigation also revealed Rowe communicated with an undercover officer, discussing his sexual interest in children between Oct. 2009 and Jan. 2010. He also e-mailed the officer videos of child pornography.
Rowe was convicted in Nevada in 1988 for lewdness with a minor, the press release said.
Rowe's sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 26, 2011.
