Lexington police: Pizza restaurant robbery might be tied to others

A pizza restaurant in east Lexington was robbed Thursday night, and police are investigating whether the robber might have been involved in other recent robberies, Lexington police said.

A man wearing a stocking over his face entered Corleoni's Pizzeria at 1300 Winchester Road about 9:25 p.m. and showed a handgun, Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said. The man demanded cash. Employees complied, and the man left on foot with an undetermined amount of money.

No one was injured.

He was described as black, about 6 feet tall and wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.

Roberts said the description is similar to the robber in another recent case.
