Salvation Army seeks holiday gifts for kids

The Salvation Army is seeking help to provide at least 5,000 children with Christmas presents with its annual Angel Tree campaign, which kicked off Friday at Fayette Mall.

To help, visit Salvation Army Angel Tree displays, select a card and choose a gift or gifts to purchase from the back of the card. No more applications are being taken for gifts.

Gifts can be returned to Angel Tree displays or to the Salvation Army's Christmas Center, 1030 South Broadway. Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 8 p.m. Sundays, beginning Dec. 1.

Angel Tree locations:

■ Fayette Mall near Dillards. Open 9:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Mon.-Sat., 1 to 6 p.m. Sun.

■ Whitaker Banks, Lexington and Georgetown. Open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Mon.-Fri., 9 a.m.-noon Sat.

■ Wal-Mart, Georgetown store only. Open 24 hours.

All gifts are due by noon Dec. 12.
