Alice Snow Turns 100

Alice Newton Snow's 100th Birthday

Mrs. Alice Newton Snow recently celebrated her 100th birthday at Wesley Village with over 60 family members and friends in attendance. Wilmore Mayor Harold Rainwater proclaimed "Alice Snow Day" and presented her with a key to the city. Snow, who worked 37 years as an Asbury Seminary bookkeeper, enjoys her 3 children, 3 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.



Jessamine Equine Enthusiasts

The newly-formed Jessamine Equine Enthusiasts has announced plans to work with the county to build a 300’ by 150’ all-purpose riding arena at the agricultural center. The group hopes to increase county and city tourism revenue by hosting 4-H and Pony Club camps, horse shows, educational clinics, club meetings and training sessions. Ernie Hatfield Youth Camp Opening

The Ernie Hatfield Youth Camp held its grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony Oct. 25 at 314 Sycamore Lane in Nicholasville. Attendees enjoyed an old fashioned picnic, games and the nature trails. The lodge is located on 75 acres along Hickman Creek, and can accommodate 50 people with its full service kitchen and restroom facilities. The camp will be open to churches, organizations, businesses and families to rent for meetings, reunions, retreats, campouts, and weddings. Contact Dale Suttles at (859) 231-8181.
