Jessamine School Board Honors Royce
The family of the late Herbert H. "Pete" Royce (from left) David Royse, Sue Royse, and Mark Royse accepted a commemorative placard from Jessamine School Board Chairman Karl Smith and Superintendent Lu Young at a ceremony re-dedicating the administration building in his honor. Royce, an assistant superintendent who died in May, oversaw 40 years of new school planning and construction.

Free Tax-Preparation Program
One hour of your volunteer time can put up to $5,657 in the pocket of a low-income family. The Central Kentucky Economic Empowerment Project needs volunteers between February 1 and April 15 to help people prepare their taxes and file for the Earned Income Tax Credit and other credits for which they qualify. Salvation Army Seeking Holiday Donations
The Salvation Army of Jessamine County is asking for a big holiday push from Jessamine County residents to help supply meals for its growing number of needy people. Non-perishables and money donations are especially needed. To donate visit the office at 205 S. First St. in downtown Nicholasville.
