Plane bound for Charlotte returned to Blue Grass Airport

The Lexington Division of Fire was called to Blue Grass Airport Wednesday morning as a plane en route to Charlotte, N.C., returned to Lexington because it had a cracked windshield, airport officials said.

U.S. Airways Express flight number 3792, operated by Air Wisconsin, landed "normally and safely," Air Wisconsin spokeswoman Annette Daly said. Blue Grass Airport declared an emergency as a precaution, she said.

The crack was on the outer panel of the windshield.

The 46 passengers on the flight were re-booked, Daly said.
