The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a wind advisory effective until 4 p.m. Wednesday.
High winds swept across Central Kentucky on Wednesday morning at gusts as high as 45 mph.
The weather service advised that driving could be difficult Wednesday.
Kentucky Utilities reported scattered power outages across the state because of the weather.
Fayette County had about 95 customers without power Wednesday morning, KU spokesman Cliff Feltham said. He said power probably would be restored by noon.
There were about 2,500 customers without power across the state.
