The Fayette County coroner's office released the name of a man killed in a two-vehicle crash in downtown Lexington Tuesday.
Thomas D. Parish, 49, of Lexington, died at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center after his Toyota Tundra pickup truck was hit in the driver's door by a Ford Explorer. Firefighters had to cut the top off the badly mangled vehicle to get access to Parish.
The Explorer's driver, Joseph Robinson, 23, received only minor injuries and refused to be taken to the hospital, according to a news release from Lexington police.
The wreck occurred at West Maxwell Street and South Upper Street. Police have said one of the men appeared to have run a red light, but it was unclear who.
