"An Evening with Myrlie Evers-Williams: From Legacy to Legend," which was scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday at Georgetown College's John L. Hill Chapel, has been canceled.
John Jones, president of the Central Kentucky Alumni Chapter of Alcorn State University, a sponsor of the event, said inclement weather and connecting flight cancellations made it difficult for Evers-Williams, a civil rights activist and the widow of murdered civil rights leader Medgar Evers, to arrive on time.
"We are working with Mrs. Evers-Williams, Georgetown College and others to reschedule the program," Jones said. All parties are trying to host the event for early April, he said.
If you have bought a ticket and would like a refund, e-mail Jones at firstname.lastname@example.org. Otherwise, the tickets will be honored at the rescheduled time.
