Juan Pablo Montoya’s contract with team owner Chip Ganassi expires at the end of this season and he was asked this weekend about any contract negotiations.
“I can’t do anything right now. With the way my contract is, I can’t really talk or anything,” he said. “I’m just waiting. I’ve talked to Chip a little bit and we’re moving along.”
The former Formula One driver has two wins – both on road courses – since joining the Cup series in 2007. His highest finish in the series standings was eighth in 2009.
“I think things are good here right now. We’re running good,” he said.
