Furniture Flipper Upgrades 'Junk' Vintage TV Set With a Flat-Screen TV, and It's Amazing
Nowadays, it's common to watch your favorite show on a flat-screen mounted on the wall. But in the very recent past, most people watched TV on a television set - a heavy, bulky piece of furniture with a TV screen and antenna.
So when furniture flipper extraordinaire Logan Schroering (@loganlists on TikTok) recently came across a broken vintage TV set, he came up with a brilliant idea: to renovate it into something more practical for today. Keep reading to see how he upgraded this TV set!
DIYer @LoganLists Transformed a Vintage Television Set With a Flat-Screen TV
After getting the broken vintage TV set into his workshop, Schroering used a drill to open up the back and bottom of the set. Then, he removed the screen and all of the wires and heavy electronics attached to it before heading to his local thrift store. There, he picked up a small flat-screen TV for $14.99.
Back at home, he removed the frame and cut away some wood at the base of the set to help the new screen fit, and he also removed the legs. Then, he carefully took out the set's speakers. "Hopefully these work, because we're definitely hooking them up," he said.
Next, he sanded down the outside of the faux wood set and the real wood legs using an electric sander. After cleaning the set, he applied a spray primer, and then painted everything with shiny black paint. He also added a wood stain to the legs, and spray painted the frame with a metallic tone.
Then, Schroering attached the TV set's original speakers to a Bluetooth amp. "Not only do [the original speakers] work, but they sound awesome," he said. And finally, once everything dried, he put all the pieces together, resulting in a functioning TV set.

The Upgraded TV Set Turned Out Amazing
"Oh my gosh, I absolutely love how this turned out. The banana legs match the speakers so well, the colors go awesome together, and the screen looks perfect," Schroering said at the end of his video.
In the comments, followers complimented his work. "My favorite flip of yours so far ," someone wrote. "Great job man! At this point I don't even get nervous anymore haha," another commenter added. "So good! ," someone else wrote.
