Having a dog is such a privilege. The love an animal brings is unmatched. Sadly, there are so many dogs out there who haven't found their forever home. Or in the case of one shelter dog, he's been surrendered to the Humane Society of Broward County in Florida - twice. Now the dog is hoping for one more shot. The next person who brings him home will be his human for life.

Kobe was returned through no fault of his own, it's just been his luck. Hopefully his luck will change and the right person will see this story and love him forever.

How much can one dog go through? Kobe is only 1.5 years old, and he has already had to start over more than once He was originally found as a stray, then later Kobe lost his home when his parents divorced and no one wanted to keep him We wish he could understand that none of this is his fault Kobe is a very sweet, social boy with so much love to give. He walks nice on leash, is potty trained, knows "sit," loves treats, and enjoys running around the yard. Once he gets his excitement out, he settles down and shows you what a loving dog he really is. He can get anxious in his kennel, but outside of it, he loves people, enjoys pets, likes to snuggle, and one of his favorite things seems to be sitting right in your lap. He is still young and full of energy, so he will do best with an active family who can give him exercise, structure, and patience as he continues to learn. Kobe has done well with kids, cats, dogs, and people, but because he can jump when excited, older kids may be the best fit. He is also allergic to chicken, so his future family will need to keep that in mind. Please come meet Kobe and give this sweet boy the second chance he deserves. If you're unable to adopt, sharing our posts or making a donation truly helps us care for pets like Kobe until they find their families. You can just tell that Kobe is a good boy. He has such a sweet face! The dog is a "very sweet, social boy with so much love to give," the video's caption reads. But sadly, that hasn't resulted in a loving forever home.

The pup is leash trained, potty trained, and knows the "sit" command. Like all dogs, he loves treats and playing outside.

"He can get anxious in his kennel, but outside of it, he loves people, enjoys pets, likes to snuggle, and one of his favorite things seems to be sitting right in your lap," the shelter wrote in the caption. "He is still young and full of energy, so he will do best with an active family who can give him exercise, structure, and patience as he continues to learn."

According to the shelter, he'd be best in a family with older kids as he has a tendency to jump.

"Please come meet Kobe and give this sweet boy the second chance he deserves," they wrote.

People wanted the best for Kobe.

"Twice!?! Sweet baby K, hope you get your forever home soon!" wrote one person.

"Kobe had been through a lot in his young life. He deserves a second chance - and he likes cats!!!" another commenter pointed out.

"May he find the happiest, safest, forever home," prayed another person.

Why Dogs Get Returned to Shelters

There are lots of reasons why dogs get returned to shelters, it usually isn't their fault.

The first reason is that some people don't understand the financial costs of owning a dog. Other times, people have unrealistic expectations of their dog. They believe they'll be the perfect pet!

And finally, a very common reason is that sometimes life changes. When circumstances alter, it can be hard to care for a dog. That's why dogs like Kobe need someone stable to love them. So that they'll never go without a home.

If you want to adopt Kobe, head to the Humane Broward website.
