Fayette County: Roast of Coach Matthew Mitchell kicks off annual Salvation Army Kettle Drive

In a bid to lure a recruit to UK, Coach Matthew Mitchell did The Dougie at Big Blue Madness in 2010. The recruit went to Rutgers anyway.

Coach Matthew Mitchell will be the subject of the Salvation Army's 11th annual Christmas Breakfast Roast scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Nov. 4 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Roasting Mitchell will be Doug Flynn, Ryan Lemond and Nick Nicholson. Lexington attorney Terry McBrayer will emcee the roast.

The roast marks the launch of the Salvation Army's annual Red Kettle Drive. Proceeds from the breakfast and kettle drive are used locally for holiday assistance and to make changes in the lives of homeless women and children, hungry families and those who struggle in poverty.
