Roses, a discount department store, is scheduled to open in the former Big Lots store in Eastland Shopping Center in late March.
Roses will offer discounted merchandise including clothing and shoes, home décor, toys, food, health and beauty products, and seasonal products such as lawn and garden items.
The chain is a subsidiary of Variety Wholesalers Inc., which operates Roses stores in Bowling Green, Elizabethtown, Middlesboro and Somerset.
The company, based in Henderson, N.C., says the store will create 40 to 50 jobs in the Lexington area.
