Adena Henry is known as "The Mail Lady" in the Plumville community of Mason County, where she makes the 200-yard walk from her mobile home to the roadside every day to meet her postal carrier.
Some days, she waits by the road for several hours.
Wearing a "Mail Lady" badge with her picture, she collects the mail for her family that lives nearby and puts it in her homemade charcoal-colored mailbag before distributing it.
She says she has missed "four or five days" since 1982.

She caught the attention recently of photojournalist David LaBelle, who was in Maysville last month for the annual Picture Kentucky workshop for photo students. He is director of the photojournalism program at Kent State University.
