Kentucky fans have a chic new way to show their team spirit with the Dooney & Bourke Collegiate Collection of handbags.
The coated canvas bags feature team colors and logo designs, accented with natural bridle leather and gold-plated hardware. Fifteen teams are currently available including Kentucky, Auburn, Florida and Georgia. Plans are to add more schools in the future.
Prices range from a wristlet for $88 to a large satchel or shopper for $248. Currently the bags are available at Dooney.com. Look for them to roll out in department stores soon.

■ The Crushed Violet, the fragrance store formerly located on Church Street in Lexington, is now in Midway.
The store opened at 219 North Gratz Street in Midway in September. The building that once housed a jail was built in the 1930s, says Crushed Violet owner Erin Miller.
The store still carries a large selection of fragrances, and Miller says that there are plans to expand another part of the building to include wine, bourbon and microbrews as well as food. Call (859) 403-2014 or go to Thecrushedviolet.com.
■ Simply Garden, a garden-inspired home decor stores, opened at 100 East Broadway in Frankfort in October.
