Paper on Stone, a paper goods store, opened Tuesday at 215 North Limestone. Housed in the former Buchignani Meat Market building, the space features original tin ceilings and wood floors.

Owner Whitney Simms has filled the store with an array of stationery, letterpress cards, box notes, wrapping paper and more. She offers wedding albums and foil stamped items, and coming soon, hand-dyed silk ribbon. Lines include Rifle Paper and Sugar Paper, a Los Angeles company that created a holiday line for Target this past year; Italian brand Rossi papers, and handmade paper from Oblation, based in Portland, Ore.

“I’ve wanted to do this since I was 14,” says Simms, who recently moved back home from central Oregon. “I’m in the right time in my life and in the right place.”

Paper on Stone’s hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Call 859-523-1281. Look for Paper on Stone on Instagram, with a website coming soon.
