If you’re looking for Caramanda’s Bake Shoppe on Boston Road to get your cupcake fix, it has moved. The Lexington bakery has opened a location on Richmond Road.
Owner Melissa Henderson said the new shop at 2901 Richmond Road has more traffic.
“This location has better exposure,” she said. And because it had been a baked potato restaurant, it already had a kitchen so little work had to be done to convert to a bakery.
Just the like Southland Drive location, the Caramanda’s on Richmond Road will offer a variety of goodies including cakes, cupcakes, cookies, pastries and dessert bars.

And wedding consults will move to Richmond Road, too.
The bakery now offers “dessert cakes” in its popular cupcake flavors such as white chocolate raspberry, strawberry, Dreamsicle, chocolate explosion, chocolate salted caramel, Henderson said. So you can purchase a bigger and slightly more grown-up version of the cupcakes you love.
The new store, which had a soft opening on June 29, will be open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
