A popular beer and pizza spot has closed: Lexington Beerworks closed last month.

The bar and restaurant announced on Oct. 19 on Facebook that it had closed for good.

“Thank you for your support over the last 6 years!” Lexington Beerworks said.

Owner Brian Slone did not respond to requests for comment.

The place opened in January 2012 in a wave of new brewpubs across the city. Lexington Beerworks not only served craft beers from around the country, it sold home-brewing supplies and offered classes on beermaking.

The location on Limestone is listed for lease by Bluegrass Sotheby’s for $4,500 a month. The bar comes with a commercial kitchen upstairs with additional seating and a two-story deck in the back. And five parking spots.
