Fish and vegetarian specials make it easy to go out and observe Lent

Restaurants are appealing to customers who are observing Lent by offering seafood and vegetarian specials.

Here's a sampling:

■ Thai Orchid Café, 1030 South Broadway, is offering a seafood special through April 12, Easter Sunday. Included are three-flavor shrimp, ginger-steamed salmon, butter and garlic shrimp, and coconut curry shrimp. The dessert special is mango and sweet sticky rice. With music every Friday night

Pianist Courtney Allen is entertaining at Summit Restaurant on Friday nights. Owner Wayne Masterman said Allen will play every Friday unless he is booked at a private party, in which case other musicians will entertain, including Second Shift. Azur's Chef Series focuses on fusion

The menu features roulade of ahi tuna stuffed with smoked sweet plantain, coconut and saffron chowder, chile relleno of Calabrese cheese and a roasted vegetable sauce, bang bang style duck, and bananas with West Indian pumpkin and chili spice cream.

Remodeling brings changes to Rafferty's

Abuelo's remakes its lunch menu
