There's a stylish new place that opened recently in south Lexington that offers everything from kibbeh balls to burgers.

Petra Mediterranean Bar & Grill, 116 Marketplace Drive, is in the former site of Romano's Macaroni Grill near Nicholasville Road and Man o' War Boulevard.

Beer drinkers can sample 150 beers from 40 breweries at the The Lexington Fest of Ales on Friday, Sept. 4, at Cheapside Park.

Using Julia's recipes

Three Suns Bistro, 298 East Brannon Crossing, will have a French wine-tasting dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The menu features recipes from Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking, including mussels in sauce, leek and potato soup, beef with red wine, and chocolate mousse. The cost is $40. Buddy's Bar and Grill is having Yappy Hour from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. The party will be in the parking lot next to Buddy's, which is at 854 East High Street. A limited engagement

Abuelo's Mexican restaurant at Fayette Mall, 3395 Nicholasville Road, has added a steak and shrimp entrée to its menu for a limited time. Donatos adds hand-tossed option

Donatos now has a hand-tossed pizza on its menu. It features a traditional pie cut and new flavors to enhance the taste of the fresh-baked crust — whole-milk mozzarella cheese, zesty pepperoni and a sweet Italian sauce made with fresh tomatoes and herbs. Customers also may select the dipping sauce of their choice — sweet Italian marinara or buttery garlic —to accompany the pizza.
