Saturday is the opening day of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, and restaurants are gearing up for out-of-town guests with expanded hours, dinner specials and entertainment.
■ A la lucie, 159 North Limestone, is expanding its hours to include Saturday lunches and Sunday dinners. Some entertainment for the Spotlight Lexington festival will be across the street at the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza, and a la lucie will offer nightly drink and dessert specials. ■ McCord Farm, 4259 Lexington Road in Clark County, is having its last shrimp and tilapia harvest at noon Saturday. "We're retiring from shrimp and vegetables and turning the farm into a quail hunting preserve," Shiela McCord said. Call (859) 808-1452.

Farmers market reports
■ Bluegrass Farmers Market will have tomatoes, peppers, squash, green beans, potatoes, apples, greens, eggs, jams, honey, baked goods, herbs, berries, mums, pumpkins and fall decorations. ■ Additional food and beverage vendors will join Lexington Farmers Market on Saturdays during WEG as part of the Spotlight Lexington festival.
Entertainers will perform at 1 and 3 p.m. on each of the three Saturdays, so some vendors will pack up early and leave the market before crowds start arriving for the 1 p.m. performances. The other two market locations will operate at normal hours.
On Saturday, farmers will have pumpkins, squash, gourds, apples, pears, greens, sweet potatoes, broccoli, carrots, okra, rhubarb, pawpaws, green beans, potatoes, meats, seafood, cheeses, pasta, breads, desserts, potted mums and cut flowers.
