Long gone are the days when bottles of milk were delivered to your door before the rooster crowed. Now, the delivery of bottles of juice is 21st-century cool.
The Weekly Juicery, 436 Old Vine Street, is a juice bar where you can drink green lemonade or sweet beet punch with a friend, or subscribe to a weekly pickup or delivery of freshly pressed juice.
Kimmye Bohannon and her business partner, Elizabeth Beal, started selling weekly subscriptions of juice in October. "We started with five weekly juicers and grew to nearly 100 before December," Bohannon said. They opened the retail juice bar May 23.
"When I ran the New York City Marathon in 2010, I went to a juice bar called Organic Avenue. I told my husband, 'This is fantastic. We have to do this.' He said, 'You're crazy,'" Bohannon said. Later, while on a beach vacation in Florida, they visited For the Health of It juice bar. "We decided to do it," she said.
Fresh vegetables and fruits are cold-pressed in the early morning and are ready for delivery or pickup or in individual servings at the juice bar.

The menu includes summer julep (watermelon, cold-pressed lemon juice, fresh mint, pure vanilla extract, pure stevia extract), sweet dream (banana, almond butter, almond milk, unsweetened organic cocoa, organic raw blue agave, cinnamon, pure stevia extract) and cool kale energy (organic kale, cucumber, organic beets, lemons, fresh ginger, pure stevia extract).
