New Year's Day run in Lexington to benefit teen with cancer

Runners and walkers are invited to ring in the new year with a race to benefit a 14-year-old Lexington boy with cancer.

The New Year's Day Resolution Run, a timed 5k run and untimed one-mile fun run, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Coldstream Research Park.

The event will benefit R.J. Hijalda, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in October, and his family.

Registration is $10 and begins at noon at the Embassy Suites at Coldstream.
