HealthFirst Bluegrass is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. July 28 to discuss the $11.7 million clinic project on Southland Drive.
Dr. Steve Davis, executive director, said the public meeting will give people a chance to ask questions about the project and to bring the community up to speed on the construction.
The meeting is to be held in the board room at the current clinic at 650 Newtown Pike.
In late June, the HealthFirst board approved the clinic's construction, which officials said will begin soon.
The project, which is federally financed, has been stalled since January 2013. Former executive director William North, who was forced to resign, had promised that a public meeting would be held before construction began.
Neighborhood groups have previously raised concerns about storm water management, traffic flow and the need for a public health clinic in the area.
HealthFirst, a nonprofit financed mostly by tax dollars, operates a public health clinic serving about 15,000 mostly poor and uninsured patients.
This new clinic would be a second location.
