■ The choir of the Lexington Chinese Christian Church, 4030 Lexington Road, Nicholasville, is performing Chinese folk music to raise funds for earthquake victims in China. The concert at the church begins at 8 p.m., followed by a candlelight vigil at 9 p.m. The Kentucky Chinese American Association and the UK Chinese Student and scholars association are joining the church in collecting donations and sponsoring the event. ■ Travis Kahle and The Neighbors Band will perform Bluegrass Gospel music in all three services at Trinity Hill United Methodist Church, 3600 Tates Creek Road. Services are at 8:30, 9:45 and 11 a.m.


■ The Cathedral of Christ the King and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lexington will present ”The Mystery of the Trinity: We Are Blessed to Know and Believe It“ with Sr. Sara Butler, professor at St. Joseph Seminary, Archdiocese of New York, and consultant to the U.S. Catholic Bishops' Committee on Doctrine. This lecture will be held at the cathedral, 299 Colony Boulevard, in Hehman Hall. The reception will be at 6:30 p.m. followed by the lecture at 7 p.m. Free, but registration is required. ■ Right to Life's annual garage sale is June 5-7 at Lexington Catholic High School, Clays Mill Road. It will be from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday and Friday; Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations may be dropped off after 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lexington Catholic High School. ■ Members from the Fayette County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and youth from all of the Lexington-area Lutheran churches are invited to volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House and the Bluegrass Technology Center from 9 a.m. to noon June 7. Volunteers will clean and check toys for their lending library, adapt and update used computers for use and read or scan books for use. The event will be at the Ronald McDonald House, 550 Cooper Dr.
