Bullitt County named an official bourbon 'trailhead'

Bullitt County, home of Jim Beam bourbon, has been named an "official trailhead" of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, according to the Kentucky Distillers' Association.

Bullitt County has seen a spike in whiskey tourism from Beam's new American Stillhouse visitor center, which opened last fall, said Adam Johnson, director of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.

Visitors who visit all seven trail distilleries can now pick up commemorative T-shirts at the Shepherdsville-Bullitt County Tourist and Convention Commission.
