Gymboree at Hamburg Village at 2300 Sir Barton Way is one of 350 stores being closed as the company restructures in bankruptcy, the company said Tuesday.
The Gymboree store at Fayette Mall apparently will stay open, according to Gymboree.com.
The San Francisco-based children’s retailer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on June 11 and announced that up to 450 of the chain’s 1,281 stores would close. The company also operates Janie and Jack and Crazy 8 stores, and the closures are mainly of Gymboree and Crazy 8 stores.
The Gymboree in Florence Mall will also close.
The closing sales might begin as early July 18, according to a website on the restructuring. Customers will be able to redeem Gymbucks at closing stores through July 31. After that, any Gymbucks earned at a closing store can be redeemed online or in remaining stores.
