Kroger on Richmond Road is getting a $3 million remodel that will include a raft of changes and updates to much of the store, including an expanded pharmacy and an enhanced beer department.
The Kroger is located in Man O’ War Place, a strip shopping center, at 3101 Richmond Road.
Other highlights of the remodel will include updates to the deli-bakery food options, relocation of Murray’s cheese and the floral shop, new produce cases and updated seating area, said Tim McGurk, regional director of corporate affairs for The Kroger Company, in a Tuesday news release.
The dairy-breakfast department will also be expanded.

Perhaps most significant are new options designed to enhance the speed of checkout. The release said details on the speedier checkout will be available soon.
“The Richmond Road store has long been one of the region’s top performing locations,” McGurk said in the press release. “We are proud of our associates here, and this remodel will ensure that the store remains modern and delivers what our customers expect every day.”
The remodel will be “complementing our growing ClickList and eventual home delivery business,” McGurk said.
ClickList is the Kroger service in which customers compile and pay for an order online and pick it up at the store.
The remodel will begin in about two weeks, McGurk said, with expected completion by August 1.
