If you like the apartment complex the Springs on Winchester Road, next to the new Frederick Douglass High School, you may also like the Springs at Hamburg, going up on the other side of the high school.
Continental Properties of Wisconsin, which developed the 252-unit complex that fronts on Winchester Road, is now building a second complex, with 312 apartments. When the complex is fully completed, in fall, 2019, Continental apartments will be on both sides of the new high school, which opened in August, 2017.
The new complex will be much like its sister complex, with vinyl tile floors, granite, a dog park and pool. Units at the Springs on Winchester include studios and 1-3 bedrooms, starting at $779 a month. Apartments are available in regular and upgraded models that may have better flooring and cabinets, more granite, nicer appliances and fixtures and upgraded lighting.
In addition to the two Lexington locations, there's also a Springs complex in Louisville.
Greg Cooper, a senior project manager for Continental, said the area is a good one for multi-family housing.
"Generally speaking, you've got a good job market there, low crime rate, retail right around the corner. all those are great parameters to have around these multi-family developments."
Cooper said that Continental hopes to have one building finished by the end of the year so the complex can start accepting tenants.
However, full completion of the Springs at Hamburg is schedule for the fall of 2019, Cooper said.
