Kentucky by the numbers: 68

The 38 laser printers launched at once last year by Lexmark International have garnered 68 industry awards.

Most recently, the Lexington-based company received the honor of producing the "Most Outstanding Monochrome Printer Line for 2008," according to testing group Buyers Laboratory Inc.

Other honors include multiple "Innovative Product of the Year" awards from independent reviewer Better Buys for Business, as well as "Editor's Choice" awards by PCMag.com.

Lexmark announces its fourth-quarter earnings Tuesday morning. Executives told investors two weeks ago that earnings will be lower than expected, and they also announced a restructuring plan that will cut 250 jobs worldwide and transfer 125 more to lower-wage countries. The company has not said how many jobs at its Lexington headquarters will be affected.
